I bought the Boss Es8, Boss DD200 and Strymon Mobius all in the last few weeks. I know I’m way over my head in MIDI so tonight I decided to go through Manual mode to avoid Midi although. I have a Mesa JP2C. I have the Boss DD200 in the fx loop and I’m only using 2 fx pedals actually through the Boss ES8.....a TC Sentry Gate and an OCD.
I had success at first. I could turn the pedals on or off manually at will. I even hooked up the Mobius and got some modulation sounds to come through. After an hour I decided to change the order of the Sentry Gate and the OCD. And after I did that nothing would work. I even put the two pedals back to their original positions and nothing. I’m using a solderless cable kit by Boss and all cables worked fine at first. Doubting I had 2-4 cables die at once I used cables I knew worked. Still nothing.
I’m not even trying to program Midi yet. I’m in Manual Mode and the only thing that works is the Boss Dd200 in the loop. Nothing else does. To avoid throwing a full on tantrum I turned everything off and called it a day.
I’ve watched videos until I’m blue in the face and I just can’t get this to work yet. If anyone has any specific references or ideas to just get manual mode working I would appreciate it.
