Boss PN-2 Pan/Trem?

Anyone here have experience with the Boss PN-2?

I'm thinking of picking one up soon - they don't make them anymore, so I'll have to find one on the used market. I'm thinking of using it for the really square wave trem, fast, on/off kind of effect -- like in the beginning of sevendust's "Black."

I've got one and I like it. If you're not using it in stereo I would think there's better tremolo pedals out there. There's a background noise pulsing that goes with the speed set on the pedal but I hear you can get rid of that by using a buffer.
