So hey hey, whaddya know, I really like this pedal! Does great Marshall-esque gain tones into clean amps. Streets around 99 bucks, what's not to like?

Here's a demo I put together for Boss:

Sounds good. Then again you could make anything sound pretty good. I could see that working well for lots of styles. Should be a good seller for Boss.

Sounds pretty good. I could use one of these for my Valve jr.

Ha ! You're complete worthless Thorn; I have never ever heard you sound bad so mere mortals like myself still don't know anything....

j/k of course ;-)

In fact, it would be a nice experiment to gather some of what's considered the very worst of equipment and you trying to make it sound it's best. I bet most of us still wouldn't be able to touch that.

Pete you make the best demos around, always well thought out and badass!!!

Thanks for taking the time to put this together!

Sounds really good, seems usable!

Thanks for the demo you rock!

Sounds great !!! I've never used a pedal like that in front of an amp . I woulkd definitely try this sometimes . Nice job Pete

I checked this pedal out in the context of Boss' demo of their new PS-6, sounded decent there. This demo sounds much better than the Boss video, and it's especially helpful to hear it in the context of a song. (I'm sure the player has a lot to do with that, too.) Good job, as usual.

Sounded very nice...how was the unaccompanied video portion (pre-songs) recorded?

I liked that 70's voicing you were going for there. You do make nice demos, you show the versatility of gear well.

Pete, how do you think the Power Stack compares/differs to the Suhr Riot? Which pedal feels and sounds more like an actual dirty tube amp channel? Thanks for the great video.

Pete, you are a pro....in spades!!!!
Excellent demo. Great playing!!

This +10000,Pete is also one HELL of a nice dude!!!!!!

Very nice demo. Fairly impressed with the sound and range of the pedal.

Great demo. I had to do another few research checks on YouTube, since ol' Pete can make a flaming turd sound amazing.

But I really think that Boss may have FINALLY got the EQ right on this pedal. Sounds very amp like, lots of midrange complexity going on, very clear.

Pete, where were your EQ settings on this? fairly flat?

Holy Crap!!! that was awesome all around. No doubt Pete, all of your demos are spot on and informative..

I have to admit to being a bit confused as to what this edal actually is though. At first, I was thinking OD, maybe distortion or even modelling but then I read the Boss overview and Im still confused..

From their site;

Authentic Amp Stack Sounds from a Stompbox
Features
From fat crunch to ultra high-gain distortion, the ST-2 Power Stack delivers famous BOSS distortion with a stunning amount of power that’s akin to coveted tube amps and professional amp stacks. The SOUND knob simultaneously blends gain amount and sound character, so you can quickly dial up anything from vintage crunch and punchy drive to full-assault distortion. To add further detail to your tone, simply tweak the onboard two-band EQ to taste. The ST-2 is one very unique distortion pedal, calling on BOSS’ years of amp modeling research to bring you real stack sounds in a compact stompbox.
Distortion Pedal? Modelling Pedal? Both? Analog? Digital? In the end, Im not sure if any of that matters but it would be nice to know..

yes, quite flat! and yes I agree they got the EQ right- it's pretty neutral, it doesn't mess up your basic tone at all....

Cool vid man, really nice job with the way you set it up, like how you broke it out into just the guitar and then guitar in a mix.

Gotta say as far as the pedal is concerned, lower gain settings were pretty impressive, I didn't think it kept its integrity during the really high gain stuff with the Modern and the Aldrich, all though in the mix the clip you did with the Wolfgang sounded solid.

For $99 what do you want right?

Cool stuff!
