WOW.

What a great show. Saw them last night.

Gary Hoey and Blue Oyster Cult opened.

I have not seen Boston in a long time so I kept my expectations low. It is their 40th Anniversary tour so Tom and a few others have to be in there 60's. Tom still looks like a kid in a candy store though with all his toys, keys and pedals. It was Tom's guitar tone that truly drew me into Boston to begin with. Actually, it was the dual guitar tone with Barry Goudreau (and sometimes Brad Delp) that drew me in. But even though there are no other original members, outside of Tom, from their iconic first album - they pull it off as if it were all their own.

They played a few new songs, which sounded good. 'Higher Power' was a good -not as popular song- too off their greatest hits album. Otherwise, it mostly a non stop 'best of hits' concert that really delivered. The big screen was cool and not overused but otherwise the stage, lighting and effects have been scaled back from prior years but that is expected these day (except for the SlipKnot show I saw last summer)

Tom is such a great musician, guitarist, keyboardist, writer, engineer, inventor, producer, and thinker!

Here are a few pics I took and a random YT clip I found from a few months ago. I also have an easy to read GuitarPlayer article for those that are not in the loop or want to learn more.

PS: Gary Pihl has amazing guitar tone too and it was interesting to see Beth Cohen lead a song and play backing guitars and keys.

Awesome man. Never seen them although they're legends. I did see BOC however and that was a good show as well so I can only imagine having them as an opener for Boston.

Saw them in Huber (Rose Center) awesome job, vocals were outstanding. Guitar tones cut like a knife :)

I just saw Boston for the first time on May 24th in Bloomington Il. Wow what a great show, what many people underestimate is how awesome the mix is. Iv seen many concerts but Boston was BY FAR the BEST sounding out of everyone of them! I had 7th row seats!

My first concert was in 1978 at the UD Arena . Boston with the opening act being Sammy Hagar. Great show !!!

never saw them live and was curious what they sound like. Heard they sound good, but was pretty impressed with a good bootleg from the 70's I heard. Could only imagine with the latest technology how good it might sound.

I'm a huge fan of Boston, but I hate to be a Debbie Downer. Last night's show wasn't that great. Maybe they were just having an "off" night. The mix was terrible, and the guys just didn't seem that into it. They looked tired. I was a little disappointed. Was anyone else there? Southaven, MS?

The electric guitar tones were good. The acoustic tones were some of the worst I've ever heard. Like a kid plugged a $99 "musician's friend special" acoustic into a crate guitar amp with built-in chorus. Some of the lead vocals weren't loud enough, and some backup vocals way too loud. The kick and snare sounded good but the toms were super loud and the cymbals were almost non-existent. I'm a drummer also, so maybe I'm too picky.

This was my 2nd time seeing them, the first being 3 or 4 years ago. Last time was incredible, so I had pretty high expectations this time.

Saw them around 3 or 4 years ago in Atlantic city with sweet on vocals. They were fukin awesome. Played really tight too. Was surprised at how high energy the show was too. If I still had my long hair I would've done some windmills.
