WOW.
What a great show. Saw them last night.
Gary Hoey and Blue Oyster Cult opened.
I have not seen Boston in a long time so I kept my expectations low. It is their 40th Anniversary tour so Tom and a few others have to be in there 60's. Tom still looks like a kid in a candy store though with all his toys, keys and pedals. It was Tom's guitar tone that truly drew me into Boston to begin with. Actually, it was the dual guitar tone with Barry Goudreau (and sometimes Brad Delp) that drew me in. But even though there are no other original members, outside of Tom, from their iconic first album - they pull it off as if it were all their own.
They played a few new songs, which sounded good. 'Higher Power' was a good -not as popular song- too off their greatest hits album. Otherwise, it mostly a non stop 'best of hits' concert that really delivered. The big screen was cool and not overused but otherwise the stage, lighting and effects have been scaled back from prior years but that is expected these day (except for the SlipKnot show I saw last summer)
Tom is such a great musician, guitarist, keyboardist, writer, engineer, inventor, producer, and thinker!
Here are a few pics I took and a random YT clip I found from a few months ago. I also have an easy to read GuitarPlayer article for those that are not in the loop or want to learn more.

PS: Gary Pihl has amazing guitar tone too and it was interesting to see Beth Cohen lead a song and play backing guitars and keys.
