Why hasnt someone marketed the modded echoplex yet? It seems to be documented fairly well all over the internet and some have even made thier own..it would be cool to see this in a pedal form!...Im surprised someone like TC.Elec. or Eventide hasnt tried to...(for those who are asking"what the heck r u talking about?")..... Bostons'-Tom Scholz thunderous pick slides into explosions whether in the studio or live is done by manipulating a highly modded echoplex w/ a footpedal that slides right to left and up/down....

the only catch is im not one w/ the MI degree like Mr. Sholtz..He sold off everything to Dunlap, why not release this too?..although Reb Beach has come close to it w/ a whammy pedal and other tricks...

Maybe you could write to Tom and Jim?
 
Sometimes contacting the main man-in this case Tom, may get you somewhere,sometimes not. I can only bet this hyperspace pedal issue has been brought up many times on the numerous Boston chat sites that are out there.....But Ive observed one thing about Scholz equipment; Its skyrocketed in price,is bought up regulary by collectors,and is getting harder to find....We can only hope Tom is still working on something in his lair..l.o.l.
 
Now youre talkin!!!!...those things were killer!!!!...Ive seen a modifacation on a digitech that converts one of thiers to a pg2.....Tom Scholz was just waaaaay ahead of his time.....Id love to see a modern version of the xpr rackmount unit too.
 
I would be interested in hearing this. As for the pick slides, I'm betting Mr. Scholz has about 8 overdubs everytime you hear one.
 
ive seen some close up video of Tom using it..moving his feet sideways, then up/down-thats what gets the monsterous echo w/ pickslide explosions all at once..Its cool to see it in action.....a lot of times when he uses it,Gary Phil will cover toms regular guitar parts in real time....theres a few good threads on the hyperspace echoplex..You would think that perhaps a fellow "rigtalker" would have found out how to get all of this from a pedal somehow.

Maybe so, but a lot of "rigtalkers" are apparently more obsessed with Eddie Van Halen and the like! :D
