The guy lives in ATL. I live in metro ATL. he is shipping it USPS. I would have been glad to pick it up. I don't trust USPS with anything heavier than a pickup.
hopefully, it will work out.
 
Maybe he was afraid you would back out of the deal in person.
Or you have a rep as the biggest bad ass in ATL. :D

I honestly trust USPS more than I do UPS these days but yeah its kinda odd that he would ship it. Granted Atlanta is a little bit rougher in some areas than Charlotte I would think it would have been easier just to meet a music store.

I absolutely hate shipping so it seems odd that someone would prefer that over meeting.
 
sent him a message and he's going to let me pick it up. So shipping is no longer an issue and he already has the money so. Everything should be cool.
I'll post my thoughts on the amp later.

Can you imagine if you were in a state where they add tax? That would suck. The whole tax thing now really sucks. And Georgia doesn't even require it but I still hate it as a seller.

Soon as I mentioned tax to a potential $2k guitar buyer he immediately bailed (we did the deal offline).

yeah man. Im in N.C. so we have to pay tax so basically if I sell something at a reasonable price its now not so reasonable. There were a few things I almost bought the past two weeks but after tax and shipping made it out of my budget. I dont get how they can charge sales tax on used gear. Tax has already been paid once.

Ga requires it on new gear now. It used to be I could by new gear online and it was tax free. NO MORE

SO I was buying this from a guy who works in the "Guitar guru" network on reverb. From what I can tell these are guys who don't have a store but are factory dealers of name brand gear through this network.
I was trying to go pick it up yesterday and he basically blew me off.
So I texted him last night and set up a pickup today.
I just got a text saying that he went by his warehouse to pick it up and it was badly damaged and wouldn't function.
He says "good news I'm getting more next week". F##$ him I don't like being blown off and I don't like waiting. Also, he said he was having a problem with UPS damaging a lot of his merchandise. So I'm not inclined to wait a week and get "hey it's busted again."

That guy screwed me on Reverb. I bought a Friedman Runt 50 from them, and he didn't actually have the amp, (showed 2 in stock). He then said he'd drop-ship one from California in "a couple weeks" I told him to stick it, and waited 4 days for a refund. Fuck them. Fucking liar is what he is.

I've had several purchases on Reverb that went like this. People post stuff as "in stock", when all they do is drop-ship. Reverb claims they don't allow it, but they certainly don't enforce it.

Sounds like they lied to you. They probably don't have the amp, and fibbed about it being damaged.

That guy is full of shit. I bought something off him and same excuse. Got it dropped shipped. He's been doing this to many people.


The guys name is Keith and he's a douche nozzle
