I don't think its your personal problem. This dude is flat out annoying. Its not the accent even, its his voice and the stuff he says. Licking shit, than asking the camera guy over and over if its weird? yeah man, it s fucking weird!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if I owned that place or even worked there and looked over and saw that dude licking gear, man, I would kick his irritating ass out of there so fast!!!

although, these days it seems like the more irritating and obnoxious you are the more successful you become on the internet. the new internet guitar phenomenon, man, some of these guys don't play in bands, never have, play just average, yet are endorsed by everyone and their mother and in some cases get their own signature model guitars. sometimes when I see this I wonder how guitar/amp builder/owners (and other guitar related gear) see these guys and think to themselves, "mental note, tell my assistant to get ahold of this guy and offer to endorse him." I guess that saying, "there is no such thing as bad publicity," is true. I know they demo gear, but in a lot of cases they make it sound subpar at best and don't even showcase the product in a positive way, its so strange..but then again there are guy who are absolutely awesome at stuff like this such as Pete Thorn, Phil X, the mighty playing of Doug e Rapps (Rappoport, such a great player!!!), Greg Koch (mainly Wildwood), etc.

I knew Dave was onto something the first time i heard his work 10 years ago thats one reason a chose him to mod my amp.

Id say he has one of the biggest USA operations, im sure it will expand.

I understand how you might think that... however we still only have a couple guys doing the circuitry...

Boutique Amp builders are amazing individuals that have extensive knowledge and a passion for expanding the sonic capabilities of amplification.
Anyone who has ever played through a 'boutique' amplifier knows immediately the difference between mass produced amps and the custom hand wired masterpiece they just played through.
But this way of building amps comes with inherent problems... if it is successful and demand grows, there is usually only 1-3 people that work on them... and the work load becomes an impossible task.

Enter Boutique Amps Distribution. We bridge the gap between small boutique and a large manufacturer. By partnering with B.A.D. the Boutique Amp Builder now has a large wood shop to build cabinets, large printers and engravers at their disposal, and a customer service/support crew. However, to stay in the Boutique category we only have a few people that actually handle circuitry. The actual builders themselves (like Dave Friedman, Joe Morgan, Bruce Egnater, Peter Diezel, Brian Wampler, Frank Falbo, Reinhold Bogner--he still makes his own amps--we do his pedals--but he also lends his opinion...and I drive the circuitry for his pedals between his shop and ours while all extensively test them...etc...) and a couple other circuitry geniuses. This maintains the integrity of the Boutique Idea... but adds an unexpected dimension that no other company (that I know of) has... the brain trust of all these amazing people working together. They all hear and talk about everything that is made here. There is an amazing Synergy that happens making everyone's work even better (please excuse shameless plug of our own brand, Synergy, that they all work on as well!).

I know you may not agree with my take... but I watched these guys for several years while I still worked at Roland...loved them then..and now I work here...it's pretty amazing here.

My idea of boutique is different.
The higher price is set by demand and offer. Because a small builder, or shop (which is the definition of boutique), can't satisfy the market, so if the products are good and desiderable, the prices are going up for make a buyer selection.

If an amp cost 4000$ and sound amazing, not matter where and who build it... if is built very very well.
But the use of "boutique" for anything expensive, is just marketing.

Most small builders that are successful get swamped and can't keep up, then end up with 2 & 3 year waiting lists.

Others just steal peoples money rather than try to make it right.

Friedman has been in Business since the early 90's.

Id say he's doing just fine and doesn't need advice.

God damn, I was reading you guys comments on the video and was thinking, nah, they must exaggerating about the interviewer! Well I started watching the clip and......... the guy is god damn annoying and doesn't seem to shut up, fuck, I stopped watching the vid cause of him.

This should have been done professionally cause that's a really awesome place that does a lot of stuff.



I will try and watch it again,hopefully all the way through cause this is some very interesting stuff.
