BATM or high wire from Badlands are my go to riffs for trying out new guitars or amps.. Permanently imprinted in my brain since I heard them years ago. Great stuff from Jake!

Check him out on the Rush Tribute Working Man CD. Fantastic CD with great performances and musicians (Sebastian Bach, Petrucci, Portnoy, Steve Morse, George Lynch, Billy Sheehan). Randy Castillo lost his life to neck cancer in early 2000's. I saw Rob Holmes on Ozzmosis tour. That was a poor choice. MY favorite Ozzy video is the Rochester "After Hours" recording w/Rhoads '80 or '81.

Wow, just wow!! Jake had so much to offer at this point. I remember how I was listening to the albums, yep I said albums, and just wanting to be that good.
Live, he is a monster!! I always liked Jake's style and he had a charisma that could withstand and compliment Ozzy's over-the-top style. He was a great part of that band and that era.
Nothing bad to say about Jake, other than I wish he had played more...Badlands was also excellent and he just kinda fell off the grid. Haven't heard too much of the new band RDC. Hope he is kicking ass there and hope to get a chance to see him live.

Jake had big shoes to fill..He did a great job there..thats for sure..Its a wonder the freakin neck didnt break off the guitar..lol.....Saw that tour in Pitts...Motley opened.

I have NO problems admitting that I am stuck in the 80's as far as rock guitar goes...because I can find precious little new stuff that ignites the kind of excitement in me as a guitarist the way that so many of the 80's players did. There were giants walking the earth back then- Jake, Warren, Eddie, George, Randy....
