Really, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Mitch has been selectively deleting posts, modifying user accounts...
 
Hey Chris, Can you fill me in on something?

As I understand it, you were the one that started this place correct? it was your idea, you launched it and then brought Mitch in to keep it up and running , correct? or was it the 2 of you from the start?

If it was only you in the beginning, Where does he get off thinking that he can call the shots and if it was the 2 of you where does he get of thinking that he can call the shots without at least discussing in with you first?

Admittedly, Like Ralphie said, I dont know what goes on behind the scenes but if what you say is true, Where does Mitch get off?

Im not trying to shit on his shoes and have gotten along with him just fine but WTF?!?!?!

Sorry to see your baby in a sad state of affairs at the moment but I wish that you didnt bail, you created a really good thing but In the end, I respect whatever you feel you need to do

The unfortunate decision was made to let Mitch take the whole administrative function, so he has registered the domain name and used his info to purchase the hosting plan. That's tough to get around.
 
Hey Bob, not going to say that you are incorrect with any of these things being said but I have to ask........who cares? I say this because you blew out one of my posts once since I stated something that should have been kept on the low side and that request was from another member here.

Now, I could care less about that since I had a killer time that night anyways :D I understood why it was done but alas it could have been deamed screwing with my account.

Anyways....none of my business with this stuff and be careful.
 
ahh, so they tricked me :(. i'll change it back. i'm just lookin out for rig-talk's future.

What was the content of your post? Let's put this into context, not to mention, that was a single post. Is anybody aware of me ever deleting another post?

Understood Bob, thanks... So much for integrity but There was a valuable lesson learned, thats for sure... Its a shame but if it can be done once, it can be done again...

I started it myself. Mitch was soo adamant about being part of it that he went out and registered the www.rig-talk.com domain and pretty much force himself into the group. I was warned by a very smart person that it would be a mistake not doing it all myself and of course, he was right. So now we're stuck with a message board that can only be controlled by Mitch and he's running it into the ground.

I don't really have any options that this point, except to start a brand new board named something else.

Chalk it off to a learning experience Chris. Theres no reasont aht you cant do it again and make it everything that it was before and make it even better. You do that and this place will be a distant memory, I predict a mass exodus. You can count me in and while I am usless when it comes to all this Compute stuff, Ill help in any other way that I can...

I just feel bad because this place was definitely growing. I also feel bad for the people that donated money.It has always been on my mind to throw some cash to the developement of this place and now Im glad that I didn't. Reading peoples PM's is a low down scumbag thing to do. I have full admin right to my job and I could easily read peoples e-mail and that is something that I would never do.

I hate to say this but if this is what we are to expect. I'm gone.

I mentioned a gathering at NAMM that was an invite only and another formite requested that the post be 86'd.

I hear you on the context Bob, what you did is just not the same and you were acting on behalf of the person throwing the gig....no hard feelings what so ever. You did the right thing overall.

I will state though that PMs on ANY board would be the last place that I send something personnel or mission critical...no way :lol:

By the way, Mitch disabled the ability for both Chris and I to send PM's, so if I can still receive them, I can't reply... just FYI.
 
does seem unlikely, but it seems that if he doesnt give everything back, most every one will leave, and he will be left with nothing but a tarnished name. now he can bow out some what respectfully and do the right thing... the ball is in his court I guess.

So... wtf. Mitch why would you be messing with their join dates/posts/PM ability/reading PMs? You realize that that is likely going to cause people to leave, right? I kinda doubt you'll have much fun being admin of a dead board and paying hosting fees to keep it going. I'm sure there is another side and all, but that all sounds pretty lame. Last time I checked, you guys paid for most of your costs from member donations, right? So how about taking a moment to realize that this is not "your" board and start acting acccordingly.
