The loop dosn't make it quieter. Let say your front master is on 5, with the loop engaged to get unity gain you would set the retun level at 3/4 of the way up or 3 o'clock give or take a bit. I reduced the return gain just a bit to keep the noise floor down. Been thinking about getting rid of the back master as not to have these discussions.

As a suggestion, ensure that if you have a single master volume, that engaging the loop does not have any effect on the amp overall volume.

Yes of course.

Would removing the back volume be a hard job for me to do. I have some modding experience.

Just turn the back volume to 3 o'clock and leave it. Use front for volume.

Yep. In smaller venues I run loop volume at 2:00. Large = 3:00. 3:00 is ripping loud and I've never had a need to go louder. I recently played to 3,000 people on a huge outdoor stage and with one 4x12, 3:00 was crazy loud onstage and gave the PA plenty...

Yeah if the front volume is at noon to 1 o'clock. You have to have the back volume at 3 to equal it.

Only experienced that in SAT Mode. Removing the back Master is a bad idea IMO because it does get very noisy when you run it that way with digital FX.

I think i just need to get used to the way its configured. Thanks for the reply.

This is how I do it.

Take the knob off.

Most male players prefer no knob in the rear.

Front BE volume 1:00. Front clean volume 11:00. Rear loop volume 2:00 - 3:00. Done. Simple as that. I've perfected my tone settings over the past 4 months. This amp is utter perfection.

What amp settings are you using? still messing with mine so always curious to see how others have them set.

Sure. Presence 11:00, bass 3:00, mid 12:00, treb 1:00 gain 2:30 (that's as high as I can go without high volume squealing setting in), Voicing switch to left. All options on back off. Going into bogner 4x12 with Greenbacks on top and British v30's on bottom. Clean channel bass 12:00 treb 2:00. Bright switch all the way to right. I use all 3 Channels.

leave the knob on...it allows this amp to be played at any volume...come on people...it's not that hard

^^^^EXACTLY... lol. It's really not that hard to figure out how this amp works. I can't think of any tube amp that's volume and tone pots that work exactly like another brand, they are all unique and have different sweet spots on these tone and loop knobs. I run my loop like everyone else.... front volume around 4-6 and loop volume around 7-8 (on a scale of 1-10). The effects loop in the BE100 is THE best I've ever played with. Yes the loop is a little quite from 1-5 but like Dave said, he's well aware of how the loop works.

I don't use the fx loop with any amp anymore, I just don't like having anything between the preamp and the power amp. I take a DI out of my attenuator and run a power amp with a stereo 2 x 12 or a 4 x 12. I also use an eq on the wet side just in case I need to match the tone. You can run it W D W or just D and W. You can also us the DI in the back of the BE100. If you have multiple rack fx you can use a splitter from the DI and use a mixer to blend both rack fx, the RJM small mixer works great for this application. If the sound man runs out of channels you can use a small Yamaha or Behringer mixer( you can get decent one from $49 to $99) to blend the mics on stage and plug the output of the mixer to the snake using a TRS to XLR cable. You'll have to make sure you have a good blend in FOH at sound check. Having your fx running out from a 2nd cab sounds better than having everything coming out of one cab on stage.

I always the loop and If anything, the loop send volume i.e volume up front should be swapped with the one in the back (return).
I had a gig about a month ago and it was a pain in ass to adjust the main volume without changing the loop send volume. I had to mess around behind the amp and could hardly reach it. Not optimal....
