Hey Guys,
I came across this 1968 Super Lead that had been pretty heavily modded in the past with lots of holes in the chassis and a non original mains transformer.
It had been semi restored but I ordered some NOS parts and restored it further and put in the famous EVH specs with the 50k mid, fat cap, and 820/.68 V1b.
I didn't have any 6CA7s around but I compared EL34 and 6L6 and the 6L6 won, so that's what I used for the video haha.
I have 6CA7s on the way though, which I'll use to make profiles/captures of that amp.
I did lots of testing with different NFB specs and there wasn't too much of difference, but I felt 47k 4Ohm felt the best with that setup.
Once the 6CA7s arrive, I'll make another comparison.
I used a variac to go from 230V to 160V, which seemed to be the sweetspot for that tone.
I used a load box and my own pre Rola Greenback IRs but I'll make another video with the real cab in the coming weeks.
Once I've profiled that amp, I'll probably put in a full Jose mod, since it already has all the holes that I need haha.
