Has anyone tried one of those italian made preamps?

I tried it years ago, and not was impressed with it; here you can find one very cheap (250 euro). I remember a guy in a italian forum said it is a kind of CAE 3+ copy, and is possible to tweak it to resemble the CAE. For what i seen the first version (blue) were made much better then the current reissue.
