Has any one A/B'd these? Or owned both?
I'd love to know how they compare, gain, tones, versatility, switching ch's / modes......
Thanx!

Nope but the Pleximan gives me GAS, every clip I've heard has sounded great.

I had an Atma and it sounded little, likely because of the EL-84s. It also didn't have the high end raspi-ness that a Plexi has. I'd go with the Pleximan.

That's what I'm hearing on all the clips... The 34's do shine and that top end sparkle is VERY plexi like!!!

I owned the Atma do a short while before I sent it back. Small is a good description. Played the Pleximan this weekend and thought it was good. Clean was good. Gain was a little loose in the low end for me on some levels of gain but I could gig it I think.

Hey Dan,

So you thought the Pleximan amp was superior to the Atma?
More raw grind?
More bottom?

Pleximan sounds bigger because, well, it is. I liked the clean on the Pleximan a lot better. As far as the gain on the Pleximan, I would not call it a raw grind. Maybe with the high gain switched on.

I've seen quite a few people sell their Pleximan's (Pleximen?) rather quickly.

I think its imperative to match the Atma to the right speaker/cab to get the best out of it. I really liked the Atma head, I love the Atma combo, especially with the Alnico Cream I put in it. I'm now running it with the Alnico cream in the combo cab and a Bogner 1x12 closed /ported with a heritage 65. It does not sound little in this set up...

I had a pleximan. Very cool amp that easily hangs with much more expensive amps. Very dynamic.

+ it weighs almost nothing

THREE different (volume matched) tones from ftswitch?

Clean - mid gain, high gain?
