Finally got this fucker fixed! Either I forgot how badass this amp was or it just flat-out sounds better than it did before but it just sounds incredible.

Big  to Jeff Bober and Jimmy Somma from www.sommatone.com for fixing my Budda SD80!

On a side-note, I played the SD80 thru a 1x12 loaded with G12T-75s and I think I like it with that speaker alot more than with my GB Reissues...

Also got to play one of Jim's Overdrive 35 combos. Awesome touch-sensitive medium gain combo. Very articulate yet warm. Plenty of gain on tap for everthing from classic rock to 70's - 80's metal. Lots of fun to play. If you get a chance to check it out, I'd highly recommend it...

I've never played the 80 but I got the Superdrive 30 series II a couple months ago and it is far and away my favorite amp ever. It's the first time in my 20 years of playing I have an amp I have nothing I dislike about and love everything about. Congrats on getting yours back up and running!

 I still say that the SD80 was one of the best amps I have ever owned,,,,,Damn I need another one!!! Something about the punch and sensitivity that I miss, powerful amps for sure   Glad you got yours back up!!!!!!

I feel the same, I've been gigging for months with my SD18 and I'm still as happy as a pig in poo.

It's very love or hate with Buddas.
It seems either Budda's are 'that amp' that you have always been looking for...or not for you at all and you sell it.

exactly, the only thing is now that I have one I think I will have to sell my El Diablo to get an sd 18 or one of the bigger ones for an alternate\second amp because I can't imagine really gigging without mine ever again.

I love how they have the right features. Not too much not too little. I dig that amp alot.

I played the SD30 combo before I got the SD80. Same overall tone, just bigger and tighter.

What was wrong with it?
Power tranny went. Just up and smoked... Jeff Bober who owned Budda before Peavey found an SD80 power tranny in his supply closet and sent it to me... :)

Then I had Jim put it in and trouble shoot the failure.

I like how it's warm, yet percussive... It's usually one or the other with most amps.

That's kind of what I figured with the solid state rectifier and the higher headroom\bigger glass. Glad yours is up and running.
