Anyone have one of these or played through one? What did you like or dislike about it? Thanks.

I've got a Superdrive 45 that I love. You're welcome to come by and check it out sometime, if you want!

I can do it.

Brian usually brings Quizno's, doesn't he?!?!?! :D

Yes. It was my main amp for 5-ish years.

Pros:
1. Great tone. Kind of a vintage-high-gain mix of Marshall with Mesa low-mids. BIG clean tone too.
2. Decent master volume. Not the best, but very workable.
3. No-fuss effects loop.
4. Good value used.

Cons:
1. Bad value new. The build quality isn't really worth $2400 or whatever a new one costs, IMO.
2. Shared EQ, if you care about that.
3. No separate gain control for the rhythm channel, so if you run the rhythm volume up high to get crunch, it can overtake the lead channel volume. If you run the rhythm channel clean, it's no problem.

Haven't played the 45 but I assume that some or all of these points still hold true...

Played a couple of them. I think they are kinda like a high gain, channel switching Plexi with a touch of Vox thrown in. The clean is very nice and the loop is good. One of the better rock amps on the market IMHO.

Pretty sure I'll still have the Splawn. LOL! Something about that amp has made me go to great lengths to find the right speakers, cabs, pickups, etc. Plus my matching 2x12 just looks so nice with it. Played a private party the other night with the splawn and 2x12. Used a volume box to keep the level reasonable and had the amp at 1/2 power. Still had crazy low end and was rattling tables, chairs, the drum kit. It was at an elks club. The cops were called after five tunes. The funny thing is that when they walked in, the St.Louis police chief's wife was singing a tune with us and the party was for a police sargeant with most of the STLPD top brass there. Funny!
