Not boutique by any means but the plexi circuit is probably the most ripped off so why not let Bugera have a crack at it too. I know this amp has been around for a while but i understand they incorporated the one wire mod into the newer ones. This one sounds good to my ear with the Les Paul https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dALVY-6P15Q. Prob a solid back up for someone worried about their amp going down or someone who wants a plexi type amp on a budget. The speaker also doesn't sound bad...

You know, I've been eyeing these for quite a while now. Would probably have pulled the trigger on the 1960 Infinium (that's the new "modded" version, supposed to have the RR mod factory installed) if I didn't have a bad experience with a 1990 (a good amp as well btw, does the JCM800/900+plexi pretty darn well) a year ago.

That amp lasted for about 12 days before it broke. Got it repaired with the warranty no problemos, but sold it as fast as I could. But as it was my only amp at the moment (sic), I felt I had to get rid of it quickly and look at something else.

But now, for a back up plexi type tone, the GAS is starting to build up to be huge!

That seems to be the gamble with Bugera.. quality control is likely lacking though in most cases I think it is cold solder joints and probably fairly easy to rectify. That said, nobody wants to walk around not knowing whether that night will be the night it doesn't work. Did they ever tell you the issue with your amp?

No they didn't, didn't actually ask about it either   .

Yeah that's true, Bugera is and always will be a gamble. Mine died in the middle of the second gig I played with it, it was a back to back gig weekend's second gig. Obviously it turned me off them completely.

But what I've read here on the domestic musician's forum it seems they've remedied a lot of the problems with the first amps they put out, 6260 and 6262 at least.
