Damn.....they sound pretty damn straight identical...
Hard to tell unless in the room. But clips seem dead nuts on.
When did that Bugera sneak out?

Just like the mesa better. More full, although less bite, bigger.

eq'd the same? Bugera sounded a bit brighter, Mesa sounded kinda muddy in the low end.

Yup....Bugera was brighter for sure.

Yep EQ'd the same. I did the video with the first 3 channel Recto version (non-multi-watt) because that is what the Bugera is based on. But that particular version is awful. When I had one I sent it to FJA and I still hated it. So muddy!

I prefer the Bugera, typically I like brighter tones though.

Either way......to me ....splitting hairs. In a mix with drums crashing.....bass thumping....nobody would tell the difference. ;)
The clips sounded pretty close "tone" wise.....just the Bugera was a little brighter. Maybe a 1/8 turn on the presence of the Mesa and they would be identical.

Mesa sounded like it had more meat and low mids. Bugera sounded like it was brighter with edgier high mids.

How did the other modes compare?

Would be interesting to hear them tweked to sound the same as opposed to mirroring the settings. The Boogie sounded tubbier but would raising the bass on the Bugera make it the same? Or would lowering the bass on the Boogie help it cut more like the Bugera? All in all, I wouldn't be happy if I was at Boogie

Didn't really hear much of a difference on boosted either.

The other modes are very similar to the Boogie, just not as muddy but Bugera def. got the voicing and feel right. Bugera Vintage Mode isn't quite as crunchy as the Boogie but its close.

Dual sounds darker smother and with more bass. I like it better.

Haha, I love your comparison videos man...

I don't think the video is really close at all... preferred the Bugera by a LONG shot... how much is one of those things?

Nice playing. I would rather have a used Dual Rec, but I have to admit that they do sound very similar, at least through my computer speakers.

Bugera sounds like unemployed Americans and Chinese theft.

Sounds very close. But counterfeits are designed to sound close.

As destroyed as the economy is, the huge number of unemployed or underemployed people that are out there...

It is amazing Americans buy this stuff. It is a pretty poison. And stealing downloaded music did not hurt any musicians either.

It doesn't matter how great of a counterfeit it is, it is like a cancer that Americans pay money to get.

If you don't understand economics well enough to understand how this hurts our economy, remember that you don't have to understand the nuclear bomb works for it to kill you.

The fact is that spending money with China is funding the friend of North Korea. Right now China is openly saying they are still backing N K even after they say they will launch a first Nuke strike on the US. They have token criticism but funnel all the supplies to them they need.

I like the way you think.

If Mesa moved manufacturing to China people would scream loudly, but when the Chinese counterfeit the design and undercut Mesa people rejoice at the opportunity to slit their own throats.
