Bugera sounds like unemployed Americans and Chinese theft.

Sounds very close. But counterfeits are designed to sound close.

As destroyed as the economy is, the huge number of unemployed or underemployed people that are out there...

It is amazing Americans buy this stuff. It is a pretty poison. And stealing downloaded music did not hurt any musicians either.

It doesn't matter how great of a counterfeit it is, it is like a cancer that Americans pay money to get.

If you don't understand economics well enough to understand how this hurts our economy, remember that you don't have to understand the nuclear bomb works for it to kill you.

...........so you're saying you liked the Mesa then? :scared:

I'm saying pushing counterfeit amps is a scumbag move. Some people will do anything for money. Even slow suicide.

I agree with you on the economic impact.

But the issue of the amp itself, it's not a clone.
It's going after the buyer who wants a Mesa but can't afford one.
A clone is something identical, the TriRec isn't identical, it just happens to mimic the tone of the Mesa.

There are some really cool features on the TriRec that are unique to it and it's actually a more versatile amp.
I had one for about a month and then returned it.
It has auto biasing, variable wattage from 1 up to it's max, 2 tube rectifiers and 1 SS and you can select either/or or both.
It's really a pretty cool designed amp and has features the Mesa does not, so it's not a clone.

A counterfeit would be a fake Mesa, i.e. designed to look like Mesa and passed off by the seller as a Mesa.

They designed it look like a fake Mesa and their intent is to pass it off as a fake Mesa.

They could've put the same circuit in a box of their own design with no references to the Rectifier and let people come to their own conclusions, but they didn't. They made as many references as possible while trying to avoid trademark infringement.

In the end I don't know how much it'll hurt Mesa. The people who buy a Tokia probably wouldn't have bought a Gibson anyway.

And didn't Mesa start out by taking Fender Princeton's and modding them and putting a Mesa badge on them?

Mesa modded Fender amps that Fender had already profited off.

What about these amps?
