Built a VFe standout

Built my own standout because you can’t find them anywhere, I copied all the components that come factory in these. I had previously owned a focus and would agree that the standout is quieter and not as noisy. I would say it’s a little more clean sounding as well.

It doesn’t look like you can buy the kit that VFE used to sell on madbeans website for the Standout. It seems as they took down the .pdf schematic and build files. I wonder if a company bought the design and going to start building them? I believe that the pcb board was what Peter was building the Standouts with.
I see they have the focus on there that you can buy and they have all the files up.
I have one other board I was going to build for a good friend.

Where did you get your pcb? I had a standout and sold it like an idiot. I have the schematic saved somewhere around here.

I bought it from VFE when Peter shut production down.

Very cool. This is one of the pedals I really want to make a clone of also. I am waiting for someone to make a PCB that has basic switching instead of all that weird relay stuff.

Looks good. I think the big thing with building a clone is the dual pot used for the filters. They are custom made.

I have a DIY set laying around for a standout. But also have a newer complete VFEstandout. If someone wants to buy let me know. But it requires shipping from Denmark. But will fit in a letter.

I wonder if the design could be modified to use something more standard.

I know I am in the middle of building an Ice Scream clone, and it used some weird dual gang pot, but they modified it so you could use something more common by scaling the size of all the other components in the circuit.
