Can anyone compare the Buxom Boost to the MXR Custom Badass OD? The MXR is the only boost I've owned, and I really dig the 100hz knob for bringing back in some of the lows. Also enjoy the bump button for adding low mids. Basically I want to add saturation with a boost, but not necessarily make the amp surgically tight at the same time.

Will the bass control + tight knob on the Buxom make it the ultimate boost for my needs? Cheers!

The Buxom Boost does everything better, simply put. And much tighter in the lows. I've had the MXR a couple times. It's a decent pedal, but less clean, a little dirtier/more compressed. In this case, the extra money on the Buxom is well worth it.

As I've stated, as well as others, it's really an extension of your amp. While it boosts, and tightens the low end, it also adds some aggression, without much, if any, tone coloration. For those with an amp that they simply love, but want it to go to the next level, it's your pedal. No doubt.

My Splawn is naturally somewhat aggressive, but the Buxom Boost added another dimension. It went from a little angry, to downright pissed! Sure, other boosts do it as well, (have a Wylde OD, GT-OD, and Hardwire CM-2), but all add some color. The Buxom doesn't, yet blows the others away.

Awesome feedback, adding this to the top of my pedal list! I may just order the Golden Pearl as well to A/B the two...and maybe keep both. Sigh

The Golden Pearl is on my radar also. Need to move some other boost/OD's first though. Currently rotating in and out 3 Suhr pedals, Cusack, Timmy, Blackout Effectors Mantra, SD1, and a couple others.

gat damn it now i need one

You do. There's deals out there. I got mine on a sale for $152.
This^ they were like a buck 44 last year at holiday time. Even had i paid 199 for it I'd still be happy as fuck. I had an amp I will not mention that I wanted more gain and more aggressive tones from. Went thru shit tons of ts9 diode clipping over drive pedals. Have never been a pedal for overdrive or boost guy( I know my loss). Regardless had I had a BB available at that time I feel confident I'd have the amp now. Unreal how this pedal works in front of gained up amp. Surprised all the demos suck or maybe that's harsh, they are lack luster. Not any I found making nasty heavy distorted amps more so.. all tweeds and classic amps. Thanks for posting comments Napalm. I was pretty confident you'd dig it with the splawn, but everyone's different so it's good to know.

Buxom Boost does it, just adjust tight knob to taste.

I'm picking up a Golden Pearl as well. Demo vids sound great.

I gotta say guys.... based on this thread I picked up the buxom boost and golden pearl. These two pedals are the real deal. Anyone who enjoys boosting amps really needs to check them out. I think I prefer the Golden Pearl with my BE100 but they both sound amazing.

I used it with my Splawn Nitro and Quick Rod. It seems to love the hot rodded Marshalls. I sold mine for a Savage Drive but I miss it bad. I'm hoping to get another Splawn and another Buxom Boosts by years end. Great combination. I imagine that it does sound amazing with Friedman amps.

Its a match made in heaven with an MCII. But then so are most the ODs I've tried with that amp.

Buxom inbound! I'm thinking it's going to crush with my also inbound FORTIN CALI! Super tempted on the Golden Pearl, but I'm looking for an SD 805 first. Or maybe I should slow down... :scared:

I'm shocked there isn't more talk about the golden pearl, it's crazy good.

My Friedman BE100 and Splawn Quickrod love the Buxom Boost pedal. I just dialed a drive block on my Fractal FX8 to be exact as the Buxom Boost.

Care to share your settings?

Thanks !!!
