Someone asked me via PM some questions about the Cherry Bomb.

Simply put, It's a stayer.

I paid full price for it and some of you have the opportunity of buying it for much less.

Support small builders.

I'm sure lots of you would enjoy this amp!

NOTE: This is a voluntary advertisment

Clips?! Vids? Pics?

We're all dying for as much as you can throw at us! :rawk:

Just a couple weeks left to get one before they go back to normal pricing!

I'm waiting for them to be outsourced to China with cheap components and then I can afford one :D Great sounding amp though.

Steve needs (just a friendly suggestion ;) ) to send a Cherry Bomb to someone like Josh Wibaut so there can be a pro demo done with proper micing
It's fun to see pictures and read about the amp, the build quality, and how nice of a guy Steve is (which are all positives), but what we really need is a nice in-depth demo, IMO

Anyone significantly intrigued by the existing clips can purchase one of the 4 amps in stock at my reduced price by the end of the month. If, for any reason, you decide it isn't for you within 7 days, you can return it in original condition, in original packaging and I'll refund your cash, waiving the normal 10% re-stocking fee. Since I'm shipping these 4 for free, all you are risking is return shipping. Offer is good in continental USA only...

Clips are great and all, but nothing beats plugging in yourself and I'm so confident in the amp, I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is. If you are looking for an amp in this vein, you simply can't do better IMO...

That's pretty cool Steve
I wish I was able to just spend 3K$ to see if I like an amp (maybe I am? ), but I think most people will want to plan around with their budget and other gear before they take the plunge.
I also know that it takes me more than 7 days to know if I like an amp or not. Some people will want to try it in a recording environment, other people will want to try it at different gigs and in a band situation.
Again, your business approach is #1, but I think people will GAS for amps by watching vid reviews and hearing clips first

My offer is not exclusive of having a pro video walk through of the amp shot. I'll get to that as soon as I can, but in the meantime I have a fair offer for people so inclined. I totally understand what you are saying and agree to an extent, but clips are not always the same as plugging into an amp yourself. As far as the 7 day trial, it's the best I can reasonably do and I think a fair amount of time for a trial. If you still aren't sure after 7 days, I say send it back.

Steve

We're just agreeing here ;)
I'm not a potential buyer at the moment, but if I was I'd jump on that deal
Your price and 7-day policy are as good as it gets
We're just asking for clips and vids because we're interested in your work and think it would be cool if even more people were too
Keep up the good work my man

Absolutely, man! Thanks for your thoughts!

I would bet that this amp sounds killer, not to mention the top notch build quality and parts, but I agree that a real good demo vid with someone like Pete thorn or the usual suspects would be useful and turn on a lot of prospective buyers.

Not to go too against the grain here but demo videos from Pete Thorn and Ola Englund and a few others don't do anything for me anymore in terms of deciding if I want a product. This is because these guys are such talented players and writers and recording engineers that they make every single product sound incredible. Sure Pete's demo of the Suhr SL68 sounds sick. So does his demo of the Boss Power Stack. He makes the Power Stack sound better than most peoples boutique amps sound.

Watch Ola Englunds demo for the Peavey Vypyr 15 modeling amp. It sounds better than the tone on many pro metal albums. I still watch all their videos but I have gotten to the point that I know their videos will make me GAS for each and every item they showcase.

Good point there Chubtone. All of the clips Pete's done I've watched have made me want to get the items...they sound so wicked good.

Not that the clips on the Henning Amps website made by the balding guitar whiz are bad either and don't make me want to buy a Cherry Bomb :D.

I agree Curt. In fact, I try not to base purchases on tones I hear in clips at all. What I take from clips is the versatility/flexibility of a product more than the actual tones I'm hearing.

I WOULD however love to hear some more of Da Bomb. I haven't heard many/any clips with it dialed for a nice clean tone on the Plex channel, or just heard some nice crunchy, sustaining chords and rock (not metal) rhythm work on the Plex AND Rod channels. Seems like most clips are noodling/lead playing. If I'm wrong, and there are clips showcasing what I am seeking, please direct me to them!

:)

P.S. I've listened to the clip of Carl playing it at Squid, but I still don't think it showcased what I am looking for. If I recall correctly, he was primarily doing lead work in that clip and rolling back his guitar volume to get at the low gain goods....

Since I'm on my soap box......

I have read the Cherry Bomb manual from front to back and I don't think this is mentioned anywhere. Specifically, when you kick on the Solo Boost on the Rod channel, is it simply a volume boost, or is there a boost in the Gain level as well? If there is a Gain level boost, would it be possible to dial in the Rod channel for a great uncompressed rock tone and then kick on the Solo Boost to get into more compressed and higher gain "liquid sustain" territory?
