I was looking around at amps on Thomann's U.S. site and noticed a JCM 800 reissue is listed for like 1500 compared to 2599 at ZZounds. A few other amps are a bit cheaper to the point that it would be worthwhile to get even with customs and shipping. Have any of you guys in the U.S. have ordered amps from there?

Haven't ordered an amp but did order a Diezel footswitch from their main European site to be shipped to US and everything went very smoothly.

Keep in mind that the amp most likely is wired for 220/240 volts, so you might need a transformer in addition :)

So, I just looked and it appears this site is Thomann USA? So I'd imagine everything is set for 110v power, and there are some SMOKIN deals! Wow.

I thought about ordering from them in the past but was unsure about getting hit with taxes/ service fees... I hear the DHL militia is ruthless

The older marshall amps have a voltage select on the back so why would one be set? maybe the newer amps?

edit: just put a marshall in my shopping cart and received a message "we are very sorry but marshall will not sell to your country" etc... oh well

Damn! I was looking at the 2555x, for 1100?? Even with a shipping fee that's dirt cheap. No VAT for us either.

Edit: Check out Andertons, a couple hundred more for the 2203X but still cheaper than here. They may not because of the contracts Marshall has with their distributors in the US. The black tolex 2555x is 1049.

Looks like andertons will let you do it.. I had it ready to go just needed to apply my credit card info. The cost of a brand new 2203 shipped to your door is 1500 bucks

Nice! I've tried to find any negative stuff on the net about this, like hidden customs fees and such, and didn't find anything. So far so good! I might have to consider grabbing another 2555x at that price!

This can't be real. Diezel's are literally $1,500 cheaper.

It’s not real. Everything is 240v and there’s no way they would sell you a Diezel for that price.

There are a couple of threads on tgp from folks who ordered amps from andertons- they report no issues. Its sure worth a try if you're in the market

Just added a Herbert to the cart and got this message: “We are quite disappointed with Diezel for preventing us from shipping to your country of choice. Please consider products of a different manufacturer or switch to another delivery country.”. Guess it depends on the manufacturer.

It was Thomanns, missed your message about Andertons, I think we were posting at close to the same time.

Yeah... I wonder if you tried andertons if it would work? I got further with them on the marshall

Aren't import duties and international shipping wonderful?  That said it goes both ways, most US stuff is much more expensive in Europe as well.

I wonder that if they have something like Shipito in Germany? Basically a virtual address.
