C45 question

I'm pretty sure you can since the C45 mode is switched on from the back of my KS modded 100 watt Marshall JMP (KS= C45/BE & HBE). It flat kicks ass in the C45 mode and I think I prefer that slightlyover the higher gain voicings, but - only by a bit.

Dave F will chime in soon. I'd suggest you get a 100 watt (whatever) head for your mod, the power tube chunk is amazing and just different than a 50 watter. The C45 mode takes OD pedals very well, too! Turn up the Level and turn DOWN the Gain and voila! Total "brown" sound fer dayz...

Very Cool! I would not NOT get the C45 mod while it's there at Dave's and recommend the HBE too, if you like higher gain and a little more modern/aggressive tones....

For sure get the C45 voicing. It is the Sweeter of the bunch.
I favor the C45 the most.
Then again I love all the mod voicings in the KS marshall Dave did.

I couldn't have said it better! Do you have a 100 or 50 watt mod? Man, I gigged last w/e with the 100 and it was really smokin' hot.... I kept bustin' out all those late 60's/70's Marshall amp riffs.... Talk about a commanding thunk and tone!

Me and Dave were discussing what would be the best utilitarian Marsha yesterday and we both agreed it would be the BE with a C45 switch. The C45 just gives you a tiny bit more gain, more highs and lows (so it sounds a little more "scooped". A friend of mine described it as more Fender-y) and the gain is smoother. I personally don't like the HBE, just because I never need that much gain (I've heard many other people sound great through it), but the C45 is probably my favorite switch we offer.

I'd have to agree. When I plug into the HBE, i find my self turning down the gain to the point were I can get the same tone out of the BE or C45.

This is exactly why I sent Dave my Marsha to remove the HBE and install the Jerry Blonde Eye
Also he's installing a 3 way depth switch Should be here this weekend
for rock-n-raunch

I've had it a few weeks after with the mods and absolutely love it!!
With the depth switch it kills
The JBE/fat switch/depth switch hasn't been changed since day 1.
