Hi all,

New to reactive loads and IRs here.... What are Your favorite cab IRs which have in the room sound/feel?

This is literally never going to happen, regardless of what people tell you . An IR is the actual antithesis of the “ in the room” tone. The closest you can get to this is to add some room reverb, or room IR’s.

What is the best room reverb

although not adressing the in the room thing, the coolest thing i've seen recently in IR land is the fryette video where they take their IR loader:

and run it's analog cab sim circuit AND the IR simultaneously, so you get the direct immediacy of the zero latency analog cab and then gussy up the 2023 realz by blending in the IR du jour.

this device is likely my next foray into artifical cabinet land (with nice sounding verb!):

i currently use my dead simple ancient dinosaurus 1990s rocktron rack interface built-in cab simulator and add lexicon verbs for "in the room" one stop shopping. exhibit 1:

definitely not eyelash level juicy perfection versus the joy of a real cab, and i do occansionally suffer IR FOMO ravings about the suhr, ox, two notes....but after trying to embrace entry level IR tech via iridium, boss, etc, it's still a bit too tone/touch condom-y and chock full of option paralysis.
i don't yet trust the process of "shall i use virtual marshall basketweave cab #3078 with virtual greenies and a virtual u87 3 virtual inches from the virtual dust cap....?"

I find that it’s lack the brightness and high end grind that you have with a live cab. It’s super apparent when comparing mic’d cab to ir. Haven’t found any that sound like like my amps do in the room sadly. York audio does have the best ir’s imo. Tried chlorine’s v30 pack and wasn’t impressed.

Oh man…. I wouldn’t even know where to begin with that one, I just depends on what sounds you like. You mean like plugins or?
One that would most capture the small nuiance of a 57 or otherwise that was mic'ed in a room.
