How far is it usually from backline to your pedalboard, I have 21 foot monster cable 2of them and a midi cable all together in shrink wrap, 21 foot is not enuff I am always running short and have to tuck my rack behind the 4x12s on stage. it seams 30 foot is the longest gtr cales are, and monster is only 21feet? I want my rack at the end of the cabs, so its drummer 8x8 riser basson 8x10 cab then two 4x12s and my rack... however i am out front as im the lead singer, any suggestions?

I was going to get a pedal snake made he can go 30 feet he was like why so far hell I wanted fifty feet

I go 35 with a buffer JUST to be safe. You never know what the situation may be.

+1

get an inline signal buffer.

hell, get a clean boost if you need to save money, same difference. just something to revamp the signal so that you dont suffer from signal loss and decreased volume or noise issues.

if you do that you can run two 25ft guitar cables together and have both length and also a decent signal strength.

my rg16 has a buffer built in..... what do the pros use, cuz some of the stages they play are even bigger?

making my own cables is the best thing I've ever done. :)

I get cable at redco. the site is down tonight though :(

Great question!...Im sure theres more than a few ways to look at this;..I agree w/ a buffer inline somewhere, heres the thing;if youre using any pedals inline and one is not true bypass, chances are it has a buffer in it..if you hav a wireless- theyre buffered.Ive had the best transparency w/ an xotic rc booster or radial load corrector.Use the BEST cable you can afford...dont skimp here...I like george-l's, and mogami..Axcess's buffer is great too....youll have to try it with, then without...see what you think. This only scratches the surface . :)

+1 for mogami's

is what i use.

at least on the front end of the amplifier.

+1 on the Axcess Electronics Buffer. Great piece of kit with an ISO out. It has a permanent place on the board....

+1 I use Redco too. Like em alot.

As to the buffer, I've always found that a cable over 20ft needs a buffer or line driver anyway just to keep it clean and the signal strong.
I have the wireless on the pedal board and run a 25ft cable to the rack. I usually try to keep the rack closer to me off the side so I can get to it if I need to and run longer speaker cables to the cabs if need be. I've never had to run cables longer than 25 ft from the PB to the amps.

no thanks i have a buffer in my rjm rg16 , i have my pedals in a rack, so i go from senn wireless to my board korg pitch black tuner, into wah(silvermach or weepin demon) into rocktron talkbox back to input of rg16...... just need more length, the guy i spoke to at pedal snake asked why i need so much, he said 10-15 ft is all he uses, whatever, right now i have top end gold monster and a midi cable 21 ft. its not long enuff to go from either side of stage to center or end of backline to center. Im thinkin 30ft might do it, next big show ill measure, the stage was 50ft long friday night about 25 deep....need more!
