I'm curious what cables you use in the shop when testing your amps, and what you'd recommend.
I'm sure Peter will chime in.
IMO - there is no instrument cable better than
Evidence Audio and are all I
ever use. EA are completely transparent. Also don't forget, your tone is only as good as "the worst quality" cable in your chain, and that includes speaker cables.
So if you use a 10' Lyric HG EA instrument cable and a George L for your speaker I/O you might as well replace the EA with a George L.
+1
but dont forget that expensive cables are not always the best cables, there´s a lot of bussines in that area..., a good cable with a good section, good components...is a good cable. look at monster cables...or spectraflex, those cables are crap...after 25 years of road giggin, a good cable must be reliable, consistent, dont twist, and so on....
mogami+neutrik....good, cordial+neutrik...good, klotz+neutrik..good, etc... but if you put a cool name on it, and make a lot of moho on your marketing....voila! a boutique cable!
put evidence cables on all your chain, and cross your fingers cause maybe the venue dont have evidence mic cables, sneakers, p.a. cables,etc...and the audience is not listening all the evidence chain

dont forget to put evidence cables on your floor or in ear monitors also. and tell people of shure or sennheiser that make the mic with evidence cable inside....
its ok put quality cables on your gear, but dont be so picky...a good cable is a good cable, and doesnt cost 100€...this is for sure.
hope this can help someone...and sory for my poor english
