Hello

I'm hoping someone can give some advice on how to cable everything together. I recently bought an Eventide Eclipse, Lexicon MXP-1, and a Samson sm10 line mixer. Also for now I'm using a combo amp and I was going to use the effects loop. I would like to use balanced cables and I was told since the effects loop is not balanced I would have to use DI boxes one with re-amping.

I would probably just skip the balanced wiring unless you´re doing very long runs to and from the amp and/or you are experiencing noise. Low impedance line level signal is less picky with that stuff anyway. All the channel inputs on the Samson aren´t balanced either, just the main outputs.

Just make sure you run your power NOT with your audio cable runs, and if you have to, make sure power is crossing audio, not running parallel.

I've always seen this recommended but i've gone against it many times and never had an issue.

Maybe it's an Australia thing I dunno.

I've used PTFE expandable sleeving to make cable snakes for pedalboards on several occasions. I have yet to run into an issue with putting power and signal cables in the same snake. Most cables are grounded well enough to combat issues.

I would get good cables at the length you want/need, some sleeving (Redco audio), and some colored electrical tape. Wrap the ends of the cables in tape and put a strip of tape at the jacks, and then it's as simple as red goes to red, blue goes to blue, etc...

What? My power I don't understand

Here was my rack all wired up. Notice the power cords are on the left while all signal cables are on the right.
