Hi.

What cabs and power amp would you recommend for the left and right part of a wet/dry/wet setup?

Is it necessary to have 3 4x12 cabs or is it sufficient with a 4x12 dry cab and 1x12 cabs for left/right?

How do you control the overall volume from all cabs? If I would turn up the volume on the dry center amp it would be nice if the volume increased in the wet cabs as well, but the wet system is fed from the effect loop of the dry amp, and I don't think the effect send gets hotter when I turn the dry amp up...

I find single 1x12's for wet works fine for me.

I am not sure how your rig works but most of the amps I have owned when you turned them up the effect loop and line out does increase level.

If you're running a W/D/W then your Wet cabs are powered off a stereo poweramp. So you just turn up the volume on the poweramp to match the volume from the Dry cab...

Yeah, but that feels like a lot of work to get the right balance everytime I want to adjust the volume...

That's the only downfall with W/D/W, balancing everything right each time you take it to a different gig!

My main small gigging rig is W/D/W
I run a Fryette UL, line out to an Eventide Eclipse/or TC Gforce, out to a Fryette 2/90/2
The head powers a straight FB 4x12, and the power amp goes out to a pair of FB 2x12's
But 1x12's will get you there too.
Maybe look into a pair of Mesa Theile 1x12's loaded with EVM's.
Port City etc.

Has anyone tried to run the dry amp head into a normal 4*12, but have full range PA speakers as left/right cabs? I thought about taking the dry signal from the amp and apply speaker simulation to it (with my boss gt-8 or something) and then run it through effects and then to full range speakers?

I made some thinking that perhaps reverb and such would sound better in full range rather than going through a guitar cab...
