Myriads of Rigtalkers wondering what they'd have to do to get such an amp quick ....

Sounds great Angus, nice playing too!
How does she sound with the presence dialed way down? The only constructive criticism thing I would say is that it would get fatiguing after a while to my ears gigging with that amount of high cut.

That was one of the best Cali clips I have ever heard. It was raw with clarity and grind based on what you were playing. Then you changed the pic attack and note and the tone got clear and smooth.

WELL DONE!!!!

This!

What these dudes said. That is way killer sounding!

Thanks for posting up that clip Angus!! Excellent playing and tone, as always  :rawk: Can't wait to hear more of what you can get from the amp, once you get more time with it. There's a ton of different tones available in the amp as you know :)

Hey Adam,

That clip was with the 'Hair' switch that Mike and myself offer as an additional option with the Cali. When engaged, it kicks in a bunch more top end cut and grind to the overall tone. When you dis-engage the switch, you're back to the standard Cali tone which is smoother and less biting :)

Cheers,
Dan

Ah OK, Thanks Dan....good to have then, more options. That is a kick in the butt for more top end.

Oh yeah..........................AWESOME!!!!!!!

My man

The toggles to the left?? I would have thought more open would be to the right as I go to the left for stun levels :D

Dan?

Dan?

I'm pretty sure he had both gain switches to the left but the Saturation to the right, so there's still plenty more gain on tap if anyone needs it :D

It really works great, i found that the Hair switch really comes in handy for those tones where you need more kick in the top end... Like Lynch, Sykes, Nuno etc.

I am now convinced that the Cali sounds better than the CCV...it has better mids and better hair around the notes. The CCV seems to strike me as more honky in the mids and more modern sounding.
IMO of course! :D

That sounded effin GREAT. Nice chops too dude.

This may sound like a stupid question cause I'm a little out of the loop....what was the original amp.

This was from the last batch of Cali mods that I had already committed to doing. Unfortunately, I am no longer able to accept any new mod work at this time.

I am working on a solution for the guys that are into the "Modded Marshall" format with a focus on quick turn around time and cost effectiveness. More info to come on that in the coming months.

Cheers,
Mike

This would be the only amp I would sell my Cali for

Here's a VERY quick and rough clip I did this morning of the Cali :) It was actually just the test track to see if Pro Tools was working but I was short on time so I just used that.

It was literally the first and only thing I've played today so forgive the clams and lack of direction etc! (in other words it sounds like my other clips!) I also realised afterwards that I hadn't even checked the mic position first!

Anyway, enough excuses

Bright switches to the left
Saturation to the right
Hair switch ON
Blackback G12M cab

Sounds great! What mic's did you use?

Solution sounds very good. Would that be an amp or a mod kit of some sort?

But you will be able to accept new mod work in the future? I want to send you an amp to mod.
