I am an absolute tech noob so forgive me asking this.
On the box of my distortion and reverb pedal the following text can be read: This product can expose you to chemicals including Formaldehyde (gas) and Lead, which are known to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.
Can anybody with more knowledge about the topic enlighten me on the degree of exposure and relevance of this information.
Does use of pedals or amps for that matter come along wiht exposure to harmful chemicals and in which way and to which degree?

The drought, earthquakes, wildfires, air quality or mudslides will likely kill you first.
But you can smoke yer brains out in the meantime if so inclined.
* seriously its a disclaimer to avoid legal litigation, i wouldn't trip.

DO NOT USE THIS DEVICE AS A "ONE HITTER"

Jesus fucking Christ. :jerkit:

Don’t insert it In your anus and you’ll be fine.

known in the state of cancer to cause california

Edit - For serious though, I believe prop 65 required that every single product that cannot definitively prove it does not contain any chemicals that can potentially cause cancer to have that warning label. Companies don't want to go through the over the top requirements and just put the label on. I got a bag of weed that was legally produced in california, it has the same warning heh.

Electronics when they fry give off dangerous gases. An electronics fire is no joke. Call the fire brigade and turn off your power at the junction box. The solution to electrical fires is prevention is better than cure. You need a special-grade fire extinguisher for electrical fires. You never use water spray. Watch videos on YouTube of fire brigades using water and hitting an electrical generator. Like a bomb going off. Anyway, when electrics start to burn that's some noxious stuff to be around. So if your pedalboard caught fire and starts sparking, you really don't want to be in that room very long with it. Fires release toxic gases but electrical stuff just has so many different metals and compounds going on that what is in the air can be a whole range of putrid stuff you don't want in your lungs.

Also, young kids licking lead on toy cars and stuff is a problem. Which includes a pedal made from lead lying around.

I got a sign for my garage that say "Firebird Parking". It came with a CA Prop 65 warning on it...the T-shirt might have had one, too.

I'm not planning on smoking or eating the sign, yet there's still a warning on it.
