I know some of you own guitars with 24 frets and shortscale necks (Friedman NoHo, Anderson Lil Angel, Kramer Nightswan, Peavey Vandenberg, etc)

So, some background: I'm thinking of ordering a new guitar. I'm a strat/superstrat guy, and I'm thinking of going with something more of a shredstick than usual (flat board, thinner neck), and definitely with an HH config and a Floyd

But I've never actually played a 24 fret guitar on a shortscale before. What fret wire would y'all recommend on it? My fav wire is the Dunlop 6000/Jescar 58118 but I'm afraid t hat might be too wide for the high frets?

Anything I should also know about 24.75" scale superstrats in general?

I have a hh Floyd Warmoth superstrat, 24 fret, 24.75" and I LOVE that guitar. Probably my easiest playing guitar, the slightly shorter scale and extra frets don't hinder me at all. I think it jas jumbo frets, stainless. That guitar is a total solo machine.

got it, thanks!

I think you'll be fine. My NightSwan was refretted with 57110s and it's no issue. I have an LP with 58118s and it's fine. It's missing two frets but doesn't seem like it'd be an issue to me.

ESP Maverick is fantastic old school superstrat. For more modern vibe is here Caparison Horus. And for absolute luxury Anderson Lil Angel or Shorty Drop top or Cobra.

I had an Epiphone SG Prophecy and my fingers would get crammed at the top but man I really do miss that guitar actually

Until recently the Maverick used narrower 55090 frets. Within the last year or so they switched to what essentially seems like 57110. I believe the Horus uses 57110 for a while now. Anderson's can essentially to ordered with whatever except 58118 (which is what the OP wants).

And the Eclipse guy.

I should just go try those out and see if I like the access lol
