I'm not convinced it's a mental illness, could be? Maybe not? That doesn't explain some who have said they knew they were gay from a young age. I tend to lean/theorize without enough data/studies that it might be a chemical change/imbalance. Dr. Tyrone Hayes(u of Berkley) Atrazine which is no longer regulated by the EPA, has turned frogs gay(proven), and turned into fertile females as well, and by his own accounts was stalked and threatened by the manufacturer.

Nature's prime directive is to reproduce and everything around us does just that and for a perpetual living reason. Since the dawn of time this has been the case and the reason & rule is the rule.

Whoever wrote that little snippet needs to do some better research. I need to point out a few things here that the scientist in me can't ignore...
- Atrazine is 100% regulated by the EPA. It is still on the list of regulated compounds. I supervise an EPA regulated chem lab (we're the primacy lab for the state) and this is one the the compounds we regularly test for in surface water and drinking water systems under EPA Method 525.2 & 525.3.
- There are a number of frog and other species that will spontaneously change sexes for a variety of reasons. These are full biological and chromosomal changes. Examples: Some reptile and amphibian species' sex is determined by temperatures during incubation. They can start development as ne sex then switch if temps change to a certain degree. The dominant male clownfish will change to female if the dominant female is removed from the group. Reed frogs will switch from male to female theorized when the population is skewed towards mostly male.
