Real short. Green Backs. Aldrich is a little louder  Recorded two tracks for each and panned them. The third is all four tracks (2 Jose, 2 Aldrich tracks together). I think the Aldrich sounds better in these clips, partly because I didn't have the level as high, and I didn't dial in enough mids. But oh well. Here you go.

I honestly think they both sound too fizzy. Can't say I like either tone. :(

I see what you mean about the Aldrich sounding a little bit better in those clips.

We demand leads on your comparison clippage though!!!!!

Too much gain through the GreenBacks maybe. :dunno:

I thought I would just do a quicky. I'm sure I'll do more. I did a Jose lead clip through the GB's lastnight, but I didn't post it. :aww:

Dunno, maybe? Maybe because you're so used to recording with V30's? V30's just seem to record so well for metal tones.

They do sound COMPLETELY different. I was A/Bing them earlier, and like the GB's a lot more. They're really thick, but the v30's are a lot tighter, and more hi-fi sounding. I had the gain really high in the clips.

They both sound great. I may have liked the Jose a tad better. The Aldrich seemed to have more teeth or something. Either way, I don't think you can go wrong. Great clips, Jason!

Thanks Dan, I didn't have anything pulled except for the gain, which makes it less gainy, mids and bass around noon, presence at about 10:00, treb at 1:30, gain at 2:00, bass boost at noon. Wait, I may have had the bass pulled out too......I have to look, it was a lot of gain.

Thanks man. In the room, the difference between the two amps are huge but in the clips, not so much. I love em both, but my favorite combo is the Jose through the Green Backs.......just kills man.

Cool man!!

When i use the Aldrich thru the 4x12 GB cab, i run my settings like this: Presence around 9-10:00, Bass 1:00, mids 11:00, treble 11:00, master 10:00 and gain around 1-2:00.

I also have a 3way switch called Vintage1/2 and modern. Vintage 1 is lowest gain, Vintage 2 is same with more bottom and gain, and modern is much more bottom end and gain. I also have a 3way switch that does either: add another gainstage, bypass, or halves the volume like an attenuator (adds more low mids and bass too).

I set to Vintage2 and add the extra gainstage, and turn up the bass boost dial a bit!

Theres more features on my amp, but i can explain them better later!

I thought they sounded good. Very aggressive but articulate

Badass! The new Camerons are on my list to check out when Mark gets them out! I think I would definitely dig both, but I really love those Aldrich clips! More in-your-face and aggresive! Balls to the fuckin' wall!

I just put a set of KRK RP8s in the living room for rough mixes and jammin' out on the laptop in style. :)... Anyway, put the clips on there, and I didn't catch anything too fizzy, and that's normally a pet peeve of mine.

If you have any more clips coming, that's awesome, because I've got a 1959 sitting in the band room I still haven't unboxed, ready to go get modded. Just gotta decide on which one.

EDIT:

JB, what guitar was that?

Yeah, the Jose stood out a bit to me... That said, both amps sounds really great, plus, I think the blend is outstanding. If I had to get only one, I'd get the Jose, if I could get two, the Aldrich blends in so well in that quad-tracked clip... The high end's just a tad different, sounds like it might be a bit more open in the highs. Neither bad amps, just the Jose would fit the music I'm currently don't better.

BTW, I know Mark's working on his own amps now... Is he still going to do mods? I'm not so much in the market for a channel switcher, just more straight up.
