I think we'll have to wait on some proper clips that take the amp through the different gain voicing available. That bit of noodling didn't do anything for me, and certainly doesn't showcase what the amp should be capable of doing.

Steve

Agreed. The high end sounded harsh and stale from here.

They really should not release vids like this for new gear. Doesn't help.

I'm sure it sounds amazing in person. Too bad most of us will never be in the same room with one of these amps. :aww:

I thought it sounded KILER... gave me instant wood!

BRAD WHERE IS MY ATOMICIA!!!!

G.

Amp sounded really good for a video camera clip, Tremonti didn't sound all that great with what he was playing.

Would rather have Mark Day playing a clip :D

Thanks for posting. Sounds very dry and dark. Not much harmonic content. Could be the iPhone.
Exactly...sounded like pedal distortion. I'd need to hear this one in the room...it has to be better than the vid.

Totally agree here....wasnt really impressed by the video, but all the comments from reputable guys...bet it was a monster in the room. Iphone pretty much sterilized the whole thing...pretty much does that to everything though....

Sounds alright. I was under the impression it was supposed to be EVH-ish.

Two gain inputs, Low is more brown low Gain Jose like the original Atomica. High is High Gain Jose, balls out over the top heavy channel. Funny how guitar players are nobody seemed to plug into the low gain channel :D

Why would you think that? He used stock (almost) Marshalls. :poke:

Can the two channels be switched via A/B box?

That's what I thought the Atomica was all about. Unless there is another "the" amp from the 80s.

I'd like to hear the low gain input. It'd be cool to have both available.

considering mark c and dave f are behind the amp line, i'm pretty darn sure if you need VH tone, one of their offerings will do the trick.
i got to play his jose mod a few NAMMs ago and even at low volume and not optimized chain-wise, the telltale growl was lurking.

in the end every ampbuilder has their own spin on it, and every player have their own ideas on what vh tone really sounds and feels like.

What amp did he want to plug into at the end that was tighter.
I think it's cool he came in and played the amps.

Looked like he was pointing to the CCV. I thought it suited him better than the Atomica. Check it out:
