Cameron Attenuator prototype was finished yesterday. We will put it up against any attenuator on the market including the Faustine for almost half the price. Came out great. More info to come.
The thing with the Faustine in addition to be a good attenuator, is that it has a really nice feature set and small foot print. The bad thing is you can't get your hands on one.

Is the Cameron a reactive or resistive load? Does it have a line out of any kind? What kind of line out if its got one?

I am glad I am not the only one who does not see any point in using an attenuator with a MV amp, especially a CCV or other super high gain amp. Makes just about zero sense...at least to me.

I suppose it depends on the settings you're using. I could see it if you don't use clipping, but pretty pointless with the way most people set the CCV.

I personally don't care for attenuators with most amps, but will say that Mark's attenuator is pretty impressive.

I'm thinking it might be useful with a SLO. Those are master volume amps, but once you get past 2, they are brutally loud.

Like I said earlier, I'm happy with my Cameron attenuator.

Almost half the price? Doesn't the Faustine cost around $950? Half of that is is $475. Is that the price point?

The Faustine does cost $950. Pricing it in the $400-$500 range puts it around the Rivera rock crusher, Alex Attenuator and is still less than the Aracom attenator or Aracom DAG.

Trying to find an attenuator for under $500 that does 4, 8, and 16ohm impedances and is nicer than the Weber mass has been tough...

The Cameron attenuator is good for 16 or 8 ohms It has a normal line out and its all resistive. There is no speaker emulation on it but it does have a true bypass switch.

oooh!

starting to feel like faustine is curtains.
Faustine may be curtains by it's own doing, but not by a resistive load attenuator.

Brad, i need an attenuator bad. You should get this out soon.

At the point you feel you need attenuation - you should slave. Much better

Correct, It never accommodated 4 ohms, I misspoke on that.
