Cameron, Friedman, Splawn, Rhodes or Bogner..., recommend

I'm a Splawn to Baron convert too. The QR was pretty darned cool but too loud, didn't care for the cleans and it wasn't very flexible. I got one killer sound out of it and it was just all or none. Got my first Baron a few years ago, it's so much fun and infinitely more flexible.

I love my Splawn Street Rod at 45 watts it's my perfect grab n go gig amp! Great cost great tones DSL8 delay in loop and MXR 10 b eq out front sounds Killer!!!! That being said I Love my Friedman SS100 an absolutely Great amp as well!! Both keepers for me think I'm going to add a SLO to the mix as well! $$ the cost of tone is in the ear of the player!!!

Im sorry Steve but I have to disagree. And, dont get me wrong, its not just amps..this whole gear thing has gotten to the point of insanity. I mean seriously..the price to upgrade and Floyd with titanium this and that??? Little blocks of titanium? ...that price? Insane. I would love to see a "Bill of Materials" for that. Wonder what the Bill of Materials is for a Klon. The best part is when people actually throw down the money for this stuff and "this is the greatest amp in the world". Fast forward to week 3 and they are already asking why it isnt dialing in right or what pedals should I put in front of it. Steve, they call that the old "justification of purchase." And its a wonderful thing. Have a great day.

Right, and 3 weeks after buying a Splawn QR, the owner is asking "how come I can't dial out this high mid spike, my ears hurt"

With the price of an SLO being 4300, same for a VH4, I think steve asking what he is for his amp is reasonable. I also understand that the Cherry Bomb doesn't have the history/rep of those two amps I mentioned..but I believe that his workmanship is on par with those two builders and would not have a problem picking one up for his asking price. Like most of us, I can't spend that kind of coin right now, but if I sold a few things I could..I do have 2 amps for sale locally and if they do sell I will be contacting Henning amps. Unfortunately the market is shit right now...

All this shit talking is making curious to compare a Splawn to all the amps I have owned.

I really loved my Street Rod but I sold it because I had put an order down for the Friedman Stevens that came a year later

That Steve Stevens amp is one of the best pure guitar tone amps you have. Just a great classic legendary type tone.

They have Street Rods in stock at a music store me. A great amp, but not like that SS, just my opinion.

Splawns are just not in the same league as this other stuff we're talking about IMO, BUT they're really good for the price point they're at. It really comes down to the feel of the amp (for me) more than the tone...some amps are easy to play on, others are stiff...Splawns seem stiff to me, maybe the lowered B+ option would make it a little spongier/saggier ?

What is the difference between the Friedman BE100 and the Steve Stevens amp?

The SS is the BE (not HBE) and has a full "Fender style" clean channel...that Steve doesn't use (his latest rig rundown video from Premier Guitar still has the Suhr amps in the road cases and the SS100 knobs on the clean channel are all turned down to off)...the SS doesn't have any switches either.

Lots of amps seem very nice e.g. Cameron CCV, Friedman BE100, Splawn Nitro or Quickrod,
Rhodes colossus, Bogner 101B, boogie MKV, Elmwood M90, CAE PT-100,
which one you choose?

Just get a CCV!! No need for anything else IMO for what you want!!! You also might want to look at a EVH Stealth or the original version!!

The Stevens sounds like EVH blue...actually, pretty much exactly the same on the 5150iii-STEALTH. I did an A/B of them. Once I got the Stealth I sold the Stevens. I have a video of it that I keep as a reminder

The BE is the BE....it's a very refined Marshall with a lot of punch, warmth and a tremendous low end. It's a great amp. If I didn't have the amps below I would have kept it.

I know you think some of this stuff isn't worth the price but I can promise you the CCV is

The EVH Stealth is a great amp!!

Yeah I heard about these...and from what I heard they were as impressed as you are..What do you think of the build quality? That was the one thing people seem to ask about regarding this amp..but I have yet to hear any complaints.

I haven't played a Friedman, but I love my 2013 QR...clean is great on mine, so Scott must have improved them. Killer amp and lots of options.
