Cameron Hot Mod with stock master volume Marshall JMP

I had a few minutes to make another video of the Cameron plug in with my stock Marshall JMP.

I’m using an iPhone so the quality isn’t the best, but in the room it rips.

Hey Dave sounds really good. What preamp tubes are you running in V1, V2, and V3.

V3 looks like a long plate of some sort, EI Sylvania?

I have no idea what clippers are used. Its like a block of silicone.

Tubes are EI in V1, Chinese 8th Gen is in the plug in and Ei in V3.

Is it a shortplate version EI or a longplate like what you have in V3. I tried a EI longplate in V1 and it didn't seem to like the gain.

In most Cameron jose mod stuff the Clipping diodes are usually always in asymmetrical orientation, I haven't seen symmetrical but you never know.

Symmetrical diode clipping is like a tubescreamer orientation having some grind not as warm clipping, asymmetrical diode clipping is like a Boss SD-1, a bit smoother warmer type of clipping.

The Aldrich didn't bond with my suhr tiger i had, it sounded thin so i replaced it with Dimarzio Gravity Storm.
The guitar comes to live.
I have heard good thing about Aldrich and LPs.

I had one in a Les Paul Standard years ago and sounded amazing. I haven't heard it in any other guitars so can't comment but I really liked that pickup.

It's not even a wood to wood thing, it is every wood/guitar shape combo is diff. I love the dimarzio chopper and it sounds different between two of my alder strats. More bite in one, smoother in the other. So I've learned sadly enough that you just need to roll pups until you find what works for each guitar.

Tone is subjective. I don't know why you would need this gizmo when any good JMP style amp with a good overdrive will get you there.
My Mesa MK III/MK IV or Dual Rec would destroy that V-2 toy.

Well, it was originally designed for a non-master volume Marshall so you can get a cranked Marshall sound without the need for an attenuator. Having owned a non-master volume Marshall since 1990 and played them on 10 more times than I can count, I was floored how close my amps sound by using a simple plug in device. I’m just showing that it also works in a master volume JMP as well. I agree a good pedal out front of a Marshall JMP sounds killer. The plug in device sounds very different than solely using a pedal out front.

I’ve owned all of the amps you listed and they are cool, but obviously the Marshall sound is quite different and those amps can’t sound like an old non-master volume Marshall and Marshall can’t sound like those amps.
