Cameron modded Wizard

Wow, December 2024.
So Mark Cameron is still making mods!

I just don't know who in perfect mind sends a Wizard to Mark with the possibility of him vanish it...

Congrats, Race! I think you might have found the only thing on the Internet more controversial than politics or religion! I bet its a beast and while the price is out of the range I'd pay for any amp without first winning the lottery, it is a fair price for what it is.

Damn dude it’s been a minute that I couldn’t actually afford something I wanted to buy lol….for whatever reason I thought this was your Mig and clicked it. Gat damn, I hope you get that!

i get bringing up the C word here is like putting on lipstick before taking a prison shower. but by the steroid tainted breast milk of Lyle Alzado, that amp would be quite a nab.

lol no my mig isnt going anywhere, the curiosity got me one night during lockdowns after a few drinks reading one of the weekly cameron threads, i bought it for the forum lore more than anything kind of expecting to be let down with all the hype, but it really is great. i wouldnt buy anything new from the dude though

Only a moron would desecrate a Wizard.
The warranty on that one is void. Congrats you got a $4500 65 lb peice of luggage.

Honestly anything becomes a piece of luggage if epoxy is involved in sloppy manners from whomever is trying to cover any of their tracks. I’m alright with it over component values but not solder joints or large swaths to hide anything. The value is not only in the sound but your ability to repair it.

My Abaddon prototype started life in a Nick Aldrich that ended up needing repair due to malfunction. The whole amp was sealed in white silicone and took months to remove just to repair. I ended up finding so much wrong with it, both by design and by age, that I completely redid the circuit in addition to my own new custom work and Abaddon was born.

So the value is in the ability to repair. Modding itself does not remove value. Removing the ability to repair, removes value. Even with silicone which takes unrealistic time to remove.
