11/5 - this guy got back to me. he said he has had a ton of offers, but from across the country and he doesn't want to ship. cant believe this is still available at $2500.

this is what he just sent:
-its a jose high gain/low gain and NFB bass boost mod (always on), loudness 2 is preamp gain and loudness 1 is volume, input 1 is solo boost level control, footswitchable between gain 1 and gain 2 and a solo boost

-I might be able to help a fellow rigtalker get this if it could be coordinated between myself and the seller.

got a message from the seller this morning, this amp is still available. he doesn't want to ship, and has had many offers from across the country. One of the best amps I ever had was a 50 watt jcm800 Cameron Aldrich, it was AMAZING!!!! I might be able to help with shipping it out to a fellow rigtalk member if it could be coordinated between myself and the seller, he sounds extremely busy.

for some people it's not worth the drama associated with anonymous sales. I only sell local so I can remove the shipper, drama, or any remorse from the equation.

I always ask if they’ll just drop it with FedEx and then offer to use my account to pay to pack and ship it. That I think means they’re off the hook if something goes wrong with shipping, but you’d better trust that it’s in good shape before it gets shipped because you’re stuck with whatever arrives.

Problem with this is if you use your account and it is damaged, it is no different than if you packed it yourself from a claim standpoint. If you use the store's account, it matters, but you then pay retail shipping prices.
I for one, would never trust them to pack an amp for me. They do not know how to pack one correctly.

I offered to drive to him, but he said he doesn't have any way to test the amp (no speakers/cabs/guitars). So he said he'd be in the city and would be happy to bring the amp to me. It's ok though—I really don't need another amp.

There is a bunch of red flags with this sale, Mark and I have been watching it as we know most but not all Cameron amp owners in the Bay Area and we still can't figure out when this amp was done.

Not saying it's a scam just a lot of red flags. I may do some further investigation and let you guys know what if anything I come up with.

Uh oh. I remember when I first joined here there was the specter of 'fake' Cameron signatures on modded Marshalls that guys were trying to pass on as legitimate. That was when you could grab one for 1800 or even less at times. I suppose it's a better time now for a forger to try and pass one along since they seem to command 3K or so. But here at RT there were so many that had these amps previously, the provenance could usually be proven fairly quickly.

I should clarify it does appear to be a legit amp just there were other people that asked us about this amp and it was the seller who was always evasive in meeting them or letting them try the amp out. That's all.

The amp in the clip is one we did for Jeremy who passed away recently.
