I have had a few Fortin/Gower modded Marshalls, and while they are cool amps, they are different than any Cam I've owned. Especially in the feel.

I have never played any of those. I also am one to say that feel is everything when it comes to a high dollar boutique amp. Slight nuances and feel is where that extra money goes IMO.

With that said I am referring to the Aldrich clip in the cameron section. Guy played the same riff as the Maxxwatt demo and it sounded near identical. Not exactly the same and probably feels different but the recorded audio was very similar.

I would be much more inclined to buy a real Cameron off Reverb for that kind of money. On my wish list along with a Duvell.

That new Maxwatt/Fortin amp is most likely an Aldrich circuit, as the Meshuggah is a HG Jose.

Don't get me wrong; Mike and Dan's work is top notch and they are killer modders. But the Cameron's I've owned have had this "squash" or something in the feel that makes those amps unique in the modded Marshall genre. Other amps that have a unique feel are the 2C+, Wizards of the amps I've owned.

I offered to drive to him, but he said he doesn't have any way to test the amp (no speakers/cabs/guitars). So he said he'd be in the city and would be happy to bring the amp to me. It's ok though—I really don't need another amp.

First thing is that is not Mark's signature and it is not the amp in the video. 100 sure of these two facts.

That doesn't mean Mark did not do it but we need to see gut shots to confirm. Mark doesn't sign all the amps he does so the person who had this could of just tried to fake Mark's signature to help sell it?

If it's not his signature, then that's a problem (for the seller). And probably why he cancelled on me. I doubt he will share photos of the chassis. Most people refuse that sort of thing with some excuse like "oh I promised I wouldn't" or "I can't because it's a secret." But I'd be interested in hearing what happens if someone asks him lol. I'm not going to bother though.

Sent you a detailed PM about this. No it wasn't me but could be Mark's old roommate who had the same name. Also I never sold an amp with a Marshall effects loop to anyone, ever. I only sell 90's SLP with no loop and add a loop if the customer requests it. Mark does not care for the factory Marshall loop so I avoid them when looking for amps for us to sell.

Just to recap all the "facts" about this amp:

1. Mark says it is not his signature. Comparing it to pics and records I have of Mark's signature it is not even close.
2. The video Seller says is the amp on my channel in the clip posted above, it is not. That's a early 90's SLP with no factory effects loop. That amp in the clip was signed to the customer by Mark on the chassis
3. I never sold anyone in the Bay Area a modded Cameron Marshall with a Marshall loop or with KT88s.
4. I keep pics and detailed records of all amps we do and sell. This amp is not there.

Could it still be a real Cameron? Mark say maybe he has done mods on SLPs with factory loops. Has to see gut shots to confirm.
