I got some mild distortion when there is a low level input. 2 places say it cant be fixed...no parts. I tried another head and hated it...suggestions?

I don't believe for a second that there are "no parts."
It's not like amplifiers have exactly been reinvented at any point over the past 50 years.
What's more likely is that the problem could be hard enough to find that it will cost more than the amp is worth to fix.
