He was a Guitarist First. He tried out for Crown the Empire but didn't make the cut, then decided on a Pop career after that. He has openly said that without Autotune he would be Nothing. I respect his honesty.

Don’t know who that is, but he has 18 million followers. That was terrible. I lasted 15 seconds after he started singing. I guess people like him and donated.
