Saw the interview some weeks ago and found it amusing. Seems to be his sense of humor.
And what could a guy like him really do musically? Playing rock and repeating himself over and over again? He wrote some of the most iconic rock songs and influenced a whole generation of guitarists . . . he's right to play what he wants to play. He seems to be pretty happy . . .
I do put on those BMN albums every now and then (I couple of years ago I've played them to my newborn to calm him down), esp when we have guests and a nice dinner. Yes, I'm that old.

BTW I love Blackmore's playing and he was a big influence when I started playing guitar but he's a douche in the video and he's always been that way. Great player, not so great person....hasn't done shit I care about in a ton of years either. But the MF'r can still play!
