Can't decide if my guitar is cool ?

Got this guitar years ago , it's a jap strat but obviously I have modded it . It has locking tuners , graphtec nut fender Floyd trem , 6100 frets , gradual scalloped neck ,( more Blackmore than yngwie)
Had various pickups but at the minute Evh bridge pickup and Kent Armstrong neck , cheesy leopard print scratch plate .
Anyway can't decide if it looks a bit errrrrrrrrr now , I'm liking some of the colours and designs of the guitars coming from grover Jackson and love that 80s hot rodded strat look that looks a bit brash .
Is my guitar cool or does it need a makeover ? . Cheers

A) You should decide for yourself what you think is cool, and not care what other people think.

B) That pickguard is hideous.

Nice guitar. Install a proper pickguard and then it will be very cool. Now not so much with that pickguard. My Wife has a thong in that print :lol: :LOL:
 
Ha ha , I'm not mega bothered to be fair , I got 30 more guitars .
got it out the case the other day and couldn't decide if it was cool or not , the scratch plate was meant to look hideous to be honest .

Ha ha ok , I think I will give it a new look , maybe post a pic when I'm done , cheers .

Personally, I play whatever the hell I want and if it plays nice and sounds nice, I play it. That said I like customizing things to make them more "me", to each their own.

If I was you however, I would take that pickguard, kill it with a hammer and then burn the pieces but thats me haha
 
The crazy pickguard looks a bit lost in the overall classic look of the guitar

Either change pickguard for a more classic feel or complement it with other stuff (black/creme zebra pickups, gold hardware, cheetah strap, etc.)
 
If you play with Steel Panther....you will fit right in. If not, then please change.

:yes: :thumbsdown: Get rid of the pickguard IMO and it will look great but if you like thats all that matters! :thumbsup:
 
I don't really need to restate what everyone else has already said. I would like to add though, I think that the problem is the loose, darker/warmer color of the guitar don't match with the tight photo like bright/vivid definition and color of the PG. Also, the PG has a subtle pink tint to it. Which again, doesn't match with the more warmer colors

Yikes, did that just sound like an episode of Queer Eye for the Guitar Guy? :scared:

Yes! This isn't as polarizing or cut and dry, but I'm a modern metal guy who plays a white Les Paul. Sometimes people scoff at me because I don't have a black 7 string with EMG's that's dripping with the blood of my victims. But after they hear me play: "Bro! How'd you get that sound from a Gibson with passives, bro". And then I give them an explanation, all while omitting the fact that I use a parametric EQ in front of my amp :D
