So, no clips of this? I would have expected something from NAMM? The coverage this year was a little lacking in all areas.

Yeah I totally hear ya there. I would have totally been willing to sit at the Friedman booth with my Zoom Q3HD on a tripod and take vids of people playing the amps.

I heard the decibel police were out in full force keeping the amps at whisper levels. Great for attenuator sales, I suppose.

Well yes they were. They walked over to Mark day and I after mark played for a minute and told us that the ambient noise in the convention center is a 100 decibels. The max decibel limit is 85.

you guys make sense of that

FYI: I'm afraid you guys that haven't been to NAMM don't realize the situation. It's not for demos. They charge so much for soundproof rooms that it would cost a company $50k to have a small room to do demos in and keep the sound police and decibel meters away.

Ask me how I know this?

That's why Suhr no longer displays at NAMM. It's cheaper to throw a huge party, get bands in and have a factory tour, even with refreshments, food and paid talent.

This is why end users don't need to go to NAMM for sounds. You can look, sometimes you can touch. But never can you rock the gear. Period.

I don't even go anymore, just because you have to make a follow up appointment to even hear the stuff at realistic levels. Doesn't make much sense to spend the time, money and energy to go to NAMM, just to have to do it again later. You may as well wait and do it once.

That's why you don't see any clips, demos, etc.

Good point Jim. Suhr had demo videos up and ready so as soon as they have launched people at home can hear the demos. Bogner released his demo yesterday. Why don't manufacturers record the demo before Namm, show the product then release the demo on the net at the same time? Surely the people at home buy more pieces than the people at Namm.

Cheers Rich

NAMM is, and always has been about dealers meeting manufacturers and setting up appointments for demos to distribute gear. End users/players are supposed to get the info from the dealers.

Only recently has it become popular to release demo videos online to coincide with NAMM for retail buyers. Seems that Suhr, and Bogner are addressing that, and I'm sure there are others as well.

Mandatory Two Notes Live and headphones at every amp builder's booth!

Who wants to hear an amp at a show through headphones ? BOOO !!

I dig it. 11 knobs - two more than the current edition BE100. I know Dave Friedman mentioned that one of them is a mid control for the clean channel. Any guesses on the 11th? Maybe a 2nd Master Vol on a footswitch for a solo boost?

It does have a mid control on the clean and the 11th knob is an overall master volume for the amp

Oh no, a global master, say it isn't so.. well, I'm out. Cant stand global masters... chokes the amps tone big time in an effort to "balance" the channel volumes... uugh

All my amps have a global master if you put the loop in. It's a power amp volume after the loop.

All true.
The AMP SHOW is a much better place to hear the gear at gig volumes.

We will be doing a video demo with Jerry as soon as we can. Hang on.

Damn it, why'd have to go find that clip yankee. Now I wanna get rid of my Naked for a Cantrell. I don't really dig the looks of it, but it sounds goooooood.
