Captor X noise through headphones

Hey. Brand new Captor X. There's a quiet but constant squealing sound coming out of my headphones. It's there even if no amp / cab is plugged in. Out level doesn't make a difference – the squeal stays the same. Thoughts?

hmm.. no USB plugged in, no other device to factor in.

Two Notes support suggests it is a hardware fault, so I've begun getting this returned.

Is the noise also noticeable when running through monitors?
Have you used a couple different headphones?
Have you tried moving the device elsewhere just to test it?
Have you tried the headphones in another jack of anything else to see if it's specific to them?

Let us know - law of rational deductions... We can get it sorted.

Hi Mo. I haven't got any monitors. Tried 2 different headphones, yeh. Tried the device in 3 different places, just on its own with headphones. Headphones work perfect elsewhere.
