Ok, after having tried just about any marshall like pedal worth mentioning "allot at least, maybe not all." I finally got the CM PT single today.. damn, I tried it up against some wamplers and other marshall in a box pedals in the store. This thing has that REAL haunting marshall midrange that resembles a good slammed 2203. The feel, the tone, the joy is just right there! I just played it through my Hiwatt and the clean channel of my Friedman 2203 and i'm just totally excited about this pedal!

Most importantly is that it really works great in front of amps.. it's tight, spongy and will basically just be an extra channel. I feel you need to you dial in a bit more bass on your amps tonestack to make it sound just correct, but thats about it! Awesome little pedal.

Personally "even though it's different" for me the bogner red pedal did not have the tone quality of this little simple pedal.

The most stupid thing is that these are made in Denmark where I live, and I never paid attention.

Fellow Dane! Woo!!!

I need to try one of them...

Carl Martin, TC Electronics, T Rex and some custom builders... We got it going on!

I"ve known about the CM PT for years but not until Pete Thorns
youtube vid was I sold on one

Their pricey but worth every penny IMHO

About the only complaint I have seen on the plexitone (both big box and small box) was that they were too bright. The ones who didn't like it said they had to re eq the amp when they kicked on the plexitone.

After hearing fuzzboat's clips of the big box plexitone, I have been researching it. I see them compared more to the bogner blue than the bogner red.

I fint the "single" to be a really nice and balanced pedal... The lower gain you play, the less you wanna cut the highs in the middle. However, yes they do need to be cut allot, but it's all possible on the pedal.

It's really nice and saturated with an awesome mid-voice marshall growl.
Closest i'v come to either of my modded Marshalls. If you use it with a very light and clean compressor with a slow attack speed you can run the pedal with less gain for a fantastic tone but still keep the sustain and lead tones there.

No more pricey than any other high-end dirtbox... You dont even wanna know what a toneczar pedal cost.

the PT has that sweet british "bark" & works with all my gear ~ that says it all for me

Marshall - Fender - Randall MTS - Rocktron - Jet City
it even kicks ass with my Pod XT Pro !

FYI - to those who can

theres a DIY site with schems/layoutfor a build your own PT ( & theres definitely room for some tweaks/improvements since its such a simple design - ie separate TMB tone controls to start)
