So, I let GAS get the better of me recently (again!). I used to have one of these back when Alan was still actively building and it was one of the best amps I'd ever owned so, when I saw this one pop up, I had to have it! Well, I've had some expenses recently pop up and I usually exercise the last-in, first-out philosophy so, up it goes on the block. This very rare and mighty beast offers three incredible sounding channels, the autobiasmon (meaning it can run multiple power tube types), the much preferred 50 watts, a channel switching button on the front panel (the Triptik-1 didn't have this), a brand new Tuki cover, and the larger footswitch make this a scrumptious morsel indeed! I bought it from Fusionbear so, we all know it's operationally perfect and cosmetically it's in excellent condition.

$2600 I'll do shipping/insurance, you do fees.

Woow, I was so curious about these. Sad that production stopped.

What is it like? How metal can it go? Was it their most “metal” amp?

Sorry for the delay, been offline for a couple of days.

I would say, without reservation, that the Triptik-2 is the most Metal amp from the Carol Ann line. The bottom end is tight and thumpy, the general tone of the amp can vary based on the type of power tubes used: EL34s give it a more midrange emphasis, 6L6s and KT77s give it a rich sound with more balance throughout the harmonic spectrum, and 6v6s, for 15 watts, give it more openness and clarity. Overall, a great amp for any occasion but Alan built this beast as a Hard Rock/Metal amp.
