'03 Jeep Liberty fits my rig with the back seats folded down. Still, it's a tight fit. Was thinking of getting a newer Chevy Impala. Drove my dad's and there is a ton of space in there!

I just got my first car, a 5 door 1.4 Polo by Volkswagen. It's a great car, had to have a few things checked over but drives awesomely.
It's a 5 seater with seats that fold down, I can easily fit a 412, amp, pedalboard, 2 guitars and a box of cables. No problems there.

Bottom line was I was thinking another small suv coming from the wrangler initially but given I can't see needing to load more gear than I already do, and don't think they're really worth the cost/gas mileage/generally crappier handling. Most of them also look like soccer mom mobiles lol. The wrangler has always been a lot of fun, but it's not a great car gas mileage and I haven't taken it offroading since moving to l.a. Thanks for the confirmation.

2002 Hyundai Elantra GT hatchback (the "Family" car)--I can get 2 4 x 12's, 2 100W heads, 4 guitars, and my 16-space rack in there. Unbelievable.

i have a jeep cherokee, so i have no problems.
but as for passenger cars that get good gas mileage - i've known people who've had pontiac vibes, and they actually have quite a bit of room in the back, especially with the seats down, and get great mileage.

I have a Honda HRV. Best car I have had for gigging. I can fit 2 4x12s heads and guitars, a bass rig and a passenger! It is really comfortable to drive for long journeys and short.

BMW 323i .soldano 4x12 in trunk,everything else in back seat...i can if i want fit a second 4x12(angled)on the back seat and fit the rest on the passenger seating space if ever needed..............how ever my Bogner 4x12 WILL NOT fit anywhere in this car at all.....

VW build quality used to be excellent but slid a bit a few years ago.Two WORST cars I ever owned were a Mercedes CL convertible and a Jeep Liberty, both were plagued with electrical problems and never out of the dealership, always different problems with the Merc, the Jeep was a re occuring one which never got sorted. I would NEVER buy either brand again, I got so friendly with the dealership breakdown guy (they covered Chrysler, BMW, Mercedes,VW, Smart, Mini ) cos of my problems and he told me that Mercedes kept him in a job. He said they packed so much technology into their cars without bench testing properly that they just got so many faults and breakdowns

I have had fantastic results with my Integra. With the back seats folded down, I can get 4x12, head - in my case 6 space rack, 2 guitars, stands, bag o pedals and shit, box o cables and shit... and passenger front seat open.
If I were going to buy something now, I might start measuring Scion xB or similar. The idea of keeping cabs verical and hauling 2 is appealing to me.

Oh I don't doubt it. I really like my jeep, but it has no a/c which means I have my top down at all times and then there's the fact I have to load in or out immediately and can't leave gear unattended safely at all (not that that's a good idea regardless). I considered just getting another wrangler (with a/c
) but at that point I'd probably just leave the hard top on the whole time which kind of defeats the purpose of it for me. The wrangler and liberty *are* good off-road vehicles but I haven't gone off-roading once since moving to l.a. and don't see that changing a whole lot. At which point the fact that I'm mainly doing city/highway driving and loading gear, while they don't drive that well on-road/get really poor mileage seems kind of silly to me.

You can fit two 4x12's, five heads, five guitars, Mark IV combo, pedal board and more into a 88 Toyota Camry. I have done it several times. If you had no passenger you could put a 2X12 in the front seat also ..... done it.
